Friday, March 25, 2005Where do you go to sign a living will saying you want them to leave the tube in? I somehow don't think such a document is as readily available in handy preprinted form as the other kind. Nor do I think it would get all that much respect from the courts. The economic pressures are all in favor of pulling the plug. That's a crude Marxist interpretation of law-as-epiphenomenon. Doesn't mean it's wrong! He did find a link to just such a document - for every state no less. But take it from me, those aren't as widely distributed as the living wills directing that no action be taken. And I know of at least one case in which the courts were all too willing to ignore such expressly stated wishes. posted by Sydney on 3/25/2005 12:18:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
