Sunday Muscial Fun: I've been listening to the BBC's broadcast of the Proms this past week while catching up on paperwork (or pixelwork.) One of the programs included this piece by Colin Matthews, inspired by Mozart's To compose without the least knowledge of Music so much German Waltzer of Schleifer as one pleases, by throwing a certain Number with two Dice. It really was quite good. Which makes one wonder about the randomness of music composition, if a pleasing song can be made from the roll of the dice or the random generation of a number.

The make your own music game was evidently quite popular at one time.

ADDENDUM: Also not to miss - the performance of Dvorak's Symphony from the New World. (You can skip all the Queen's birthday hullabaloo by clicking on Proms 7 - part 2 on the BBC player which comes up after clicking "Listen Online.")
