Sunday, June 09, 2002"Lotronex may be prescribed only by certain doctors enrolled in a special program, and given only to the sickest patients, fewer than 5% of sufferers, who have failed other therapies, the Food and Drug Administration said Friday." Make it hard enough to prescribe and no one will prescribe it. They did the same thing with a drug called Propulsid about three years ago, and no one uses it anymore. It's unlikely the drug company will be able to continue manufacturing it if its market is going to be so limited. The FDA has effectively banished the drug without seeming to be the bad guy. Score one for them. posted by Sydney on 6/09/2002 07:30:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
