Friday, October 04, 2002OK, I Lied: I have one other thing to say. The caption that goes with the first photograph makes me wonder about the validity of some of these diagnoses: Eric Suarez, 17, who suffers from bipolar disorder, takes nine medications daily to treat his depression-some for the symptoms and others to combat the side effects of those drugs. That's called polypharmacy, and it's not a good thing. Usually when you have to keep throwing more and more drugs at a problem and then throw even more drugs at the problems created by the drugs, you’ve got the wrong diagnosis or the wrong drugs or both. posted by Sydney on 10/04/2002 08:36:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
