West Nile Update: The CDC confirms that West Nile virus can be transmitted through breast milk. Having it isn't a contraindication to breastfeeding, however:
The child is healthy and his mother is recovering, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. The CDC said it was virtually certain the virus came from breast milk, though there is no way to be completely sure.
I repeat, the baby is healthy, and never showed any signs of illness. When this whole West Nile thing is over, it may well prove to be the most benign disease to have ever attracted so much money and attention.
