Wednesday, December 18, 2002"The message for John Manley is: health-care dollars, health-care dollars, health-care dollars," Ecker declared after she and other ministers met in preparation for pre-budget talks with the federal finance minister. "The needs are there today," Ecker told reporters. "I don't know how any political leader in this country can say to their citizens that we don't have health-care needs today." What the political leaders are saying is that the money isn't there today. That's the problem with single-payer health care. The need always outstrips the means. And the need is always a handy tool for achieving political ends. posted by Sydney on 12/18/2002 10:16:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
