Monday, December 15, 2003The money will be aimed at improving methods of identifying both infectious diseases and potential bioterrorism threats, the department said in a news release distributed outside the meeting. It also will fund bioterrorism surveillance systems in Mexico that are compatible with those in the four U.S. border states, the department said. It did not elaborate. ....The grant money announced Friday will be distributed to Mexico's Health Department and the six Mexican border states: Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.
