Guiding Lights: New guidelines are being released today regarding pediatric high blood pressure:
New federal guidelines recommend checking children for possible heart and blood vessel damage if they have high blood pressure -- a hazard increasing among the very young as Americans put on more and more weight.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I always understood that you were supposed to check for such damage periodically in people with high blood pressure - regardless of their age. Is this really new?
