Wednesday, October 20, 2004That left the United States with about 55 million doses from its second manufacturer, Aventis Pasteur. At a news conference Tuesday, Aventis Pasteur announced it could produce another 2.6 million doses. The extra vaccine won't be ready for distribution until January. That's enough for almost a quarter of the total population. Only about 12% of the population is over 65 (at least in 2000, and that percentage seems to have stayed rather stable over ten years). Shouldn't 55 million doses be enough to cover everyone who is high risk, then? It should be as long as the vaccine is given to only those who need it. posted by Sydney on 10/20/2004 08:16:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
