Tuesday, December 21, 2004Importing cheaper prescription drugs from Canada could be done safely in a large, highly regulated commercial enterprise, says U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona. But it would cost hundreds of millions of dollars to police and the savings for consumers wouldn't be that high, he said. Carmona's long-awaited task force report on the issue, released Tuesday, said it would be 'extraordinarily difficult and costly' to ensure the safety of personal imports and most Americans would be better off simply using more generic drugs that can cost half what they do in Canada. Kind of like that old saying about service: Good, fast, cheap. Choose two. posted by Sydney on 12/21/2004 08:45:00 PM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
