Monday, May 30, 2005Now I love it even more. Yesterday, I stopped at the office to pick up the mail and found a letter from a law firm requesting the records of a patient who is dying of cancer. I tried to put it aside and not let it bother me until Tuesday, when the holiday is over, but it kept gnawing at me. Why would they be thinking of suing me? I hadn't done anything remotely smacking of negligence. In fact, if I recall correctly, I diagnosed the cancer. I've been seeing the family all along, and not a hint that they had any hostile feelings. Then, I Googled the lawfirm. They specialize in malpractice defense. Sigh of relief. They're suing someone, but it must not be me (yet). It's a small comfort, but at least I can enjoy the holiday without worry.
