Art and Madness: The David syndrome - is it jealousy or something else that makes men mad when they look at Michelangelo's David? After all, not everyone can do as Napoleon, and turn turn himself into David. (I know he's supposed to be Mars, but he's always looked suspiciously like David to me.) posted by Sydney on

Bizarre. I am a male, I have seen David in Florence towering over me, but all I ever felt was a great admiration for this fabulous sculptor Michaelangelo... Am I the fringes of the male population, or is Magherini and colleagues off in the twilight?
