Tuesday, January 31, 2006On the health-care front, Mr. Bush will call on Congress to provide more information on providers, including how much they charge, so consumers can be smarter shoppers. 'The patient-doctor relationship is a crucial relationship in helping control the costs of medicine,' Mr. Bush said. 'The more transparent pricing is, and the more opportunities patients have to make decisions in the health-care field, the more likely it is costs will not increase as dramatically as they have in the past.' He said he also will push for legislation making it harder to file malpractice lawsuits, which he said are 'running up the cost of medicine.' Congress has declined to address this issue in the past. posted by Sydney on 1/31/2006 08:57:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
