Flu Factoid: According to a lecture I attended today, every influenza pandemic since 1890, when they started tracking global temperatures, was associated with a global cooling trend. It might not mean anything, but it's interesting.
That is interesting since now everything points to global warming and here we have an avian flu which appears potentially more deadly than any flu (or just about any disease in our history) has ever been.
I think the observation that things are heating up may be more or less accepted and the argument is over the accusation that it's the West and our love of the SUV that is causing it. The liberal fantasy of Koyoto is about the idea that somehow redistribution of wealth to countries without an infrastructure to generate CO2 will put an end to it.
I agree with the anonymous poster immediately above me. Now that Al Gore says cigarette smoking is a "significant" contributor to global warming, I think I'll skip that viewing of an "Inconvenient Truth."
We should have been like the French, and signed Kyoto but ignored its stipulations.
Also, nothing has become of the avian flu, has it? Go check the WHO website. 148 TOTAL deaths in four years. Despite the fact that rich, selfish Western nations were hogging all the Tamiflu.
Hey, I just noticed my word verification is: SUV BMW D. I'm not joking. It's a sign from God.

ReplyDeleteglobal warming is nothing more than liberal fantasies. It's all about the money.
ReplyDeleteShould we therefore go on with stimulating or really starting global warming, so a pandemic will be prevented?

Oh, I'm not anonymous, either, despite the above post. That's why "SUV BMW D" was a sign.
