Sunday, June 24, 2007It has sent a bit of a chill through the medical blogosphere. But, I hope that fear of discovery doesn't stop physicians from blogging. Just make it a rule to blog as if you are blogging under your own name. It's true that a pseudonym does not guarantee anonymity. I was more than a little unnerved the first time a patient revealed he had read my blog, but then I realized that it's not realistic for me to believe that I can remain a cipher. I live and work in the same community they do. They see me at Mass, at the grocery store, at school events. They are more likely to see me in an unguarded moment in the real world than in the cyberworld- yelling at my kids, rolling my eyes at the priest, hearing unfiltered stories about me from my kids. ("Patience? She's got too much patience. She's always complaining about them.") So come back, Flea. Now that your trial is over, you're free to tell us about it. posted by Sydney on 6/24/2007 07:33:00 AM 0 comments 0 Comments: |
