Life of the Solo Doctor: The Musings of a Dinosaur:

They say the solo Family Doctor is extinct; gone the way of the dinosaur.

Well, I've been in private practice for well over a decade and I'm still kicking, so here's my blog.

Until they drag my cold, dead body off into the tar pit, read about my trials and tribulations -- and the joys and triumphs, which are what keep me going.

I'm a dinosaur, too, but I've only been one for three years. I still have no regrets about taking the solo plunge. I may make a little less money, but you can't put a price on freedom. I never realized how much I disliked being told by a business man how many patients a day I had to see and where I had to refer them until I purchased my freedom.

  1. Thanks so much for the mention, Dr. Syd. The deep dark secret of us dinosaurs is that the whole independent thing is fun. Practicing medicine the way it *should* be, without anyone else telling you. Except the patients. And they all have different opinions.
